Question:
I am trying to wire the maxx air to a cigarette plug to go into my yeti 500x power station. The plug has a 10 amp fuse in it and I dont want to take it apart to change the fuse if I even could because they are impossible to get back together. Can I install a 5 amp in line fuse between the plug and the fan and still be protected?

Expert Reply:
The MaxxAir # MA00-07500K claims to use 5 amps, so fusing it for 5 amps seems like zero tolerance for any power issue. I would fuse it a bit higher, like 7.5 amps.
You could use the Curt # C58470-1 in-line fuse holder. You will just need to pick up the actual fuse at an automotive store.
