Replacement Recommendation For Husky 16k 5th Wheel hitch

Question:
I pull release lever and lock it into open position. Does not fully open jaws. It used to work fine. Now I need to pull lever out to limit of its travel to fully open jaws to either release from king pin or hook up to king pin. I repeat: It worked in the past. This is a recent issue.

Expert Reply:
Any time you run into a issue with jaws like this the safest bet is to replace the head or to just completely replace the hitch before the jaws fail and the trailer disconnects while towing. We no longer carry Husky brand hitches so in it's place I recommend the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 16,000lbs Item # C16120.
