Question:

Hello, the axle on my 2000 Trailstar Tracker trailer needs to be replaced. It is a 2000 pound capacity single axle trailer. The axle measures 75” tip to tip, and 58.5” spring bolt to spring bolt. This appears to be the closests match I can find online. Will this work for my trailer?

The Dexter Trailer Axle # 20545I-EZ-72-15 does appear to be the closest to your measurements on your 2000 Trailstar Tracker. It has a hub face to hub face of 72" which would be near the same as your 75" tip to tip length that you measured. The axle has a Spring center of 58" which compared to your 58.5" measurement may just be a difference how the U-bolts were tightened.

Axle manufactures tend to use the hub face to hub face measurements as this will give a more accurate representation of where the axle will sit in the frame and allows for measuring what wheels and tires will be able to fit. It is good practice to verify this measurement before ordering your axle to ensure you have the correct one.

I recommend a U-Bolt Kit # APUBR-10 as if you are still using the originals they have over 20 years of stress and deterioration.
