Question:

We own a 2015 Jayco 29 RKS We replaced the original steps that folded out from underneath the rig with a solid sure step system that folds up into the rig. When we did this we had to take off the door closer that was attached to the floor that was located where the new steps were going. We were going to install one of these to the outside of our rig to keep the door from blowing around when we want it open. My question is, is it possible to attach this to my trailer when there wasnt one already there? Is the shell of my trailer strong enough to hold the door open if a wind gust comes or will it destroy where its secured to the trailer?

Your camper shell will be fine using the 45-Degree T-Style Hook and Keeper Door Holder for Enclosed Trailer - 3-3/4" - Stainless Steel Item # 37211765 to hold the door open, even in the wind. I recommend using some Butyl Tape Item # 344270341411-1 on the brackets to ensure a water tight seal in the screw holes and will also add some extra grip strength to your brackets.
