Question:

I have purchased the EZ Rec Rack Loading System for my Hobie, awaiting delivery. The rack will mount to my crossbars, but it does not lock. I am wondering if I can use the locks to secure the rack.

I may have a security solution for you, but the Yakima Accessory Lock Housing # Y07220 was designed to replace the knobs on Yakima accessories,. Unfortunately it has not been tested with an EZ Rec Rack and since we do not offer that product line, we really have no way of knowing whether or not it would work. I also wasn't able to determine compatibility when I checked out the EZ Rec rack.

However, you could just use a cable lock like the Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Cable, 9' Long (Lock Core Sold Separately) # Y07233 paired with some Yakima SKS Lock Cores # Y07204 (4 pack) to keep it secured to your roof rack. This would also allow you to match the lock cores if you've got any existing Yakima locking parts.
