Will the Yakima Frontloader Fit the Thule Wingbar Evo

Question:

Hello, I am about to purchase a Yakima FrontLoader that is configured for Yakima round bars. However, my 2022 VW Tiguan has Thule Wingbar Evo. What conversion kit do I need to make it fit my aero bars?

Great news Ross! Thank you for the photo. The clamps on your Yakima FrontLoader part # Y02103 will absolutely work with your Thule WingBar crossbars!

That rack is designed to fit a wide range of bar shapes, including aero-style bars like the WingBars, so you’re all set. Have you had trouble fitting the FrontLoader on the bars? I am happy to help.

Hi Heather The front loader is older and is set up for round bars currently. Is there a conversion kit? Thank you Ross

@Ross Hi Ross, thanks for following up. I did reach out to Thule some very early FrontLoaders may not officially support aero bars pre-2010. In this case, Yakima doesn't offer an official retrofit kit. They mentioned there was a recall on the 2010 version of the rack. There is a registration form on their website if you want to take a look at it. I know that is not the news you wanted to hear. Sorry Ross :(
