Question:
I am looking for a tow bar set up for a 2020 Chev Silverado 1500 4x4 Trail Boss 5.3 engine to pull behind. Wondering about your suggestions for that complete set up as well. Tow bar, brackets, brake lights, battery disconnect if needed and any other suggestions? Thank you.

For the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 I recommend the Roadmaster Base Plate # RM-523199-5. This direct connect base plate will accept the Roadmaster Nighthawk Tow Bar # RM-676. The tow bar has a 8,000lb rating and feature integrated LED light strips making you more visible. The Tow Bar Combo Kit # RM-9284-2 will give you locks for the different componets of your tow bar, a protective cover for the bar when not in use, the wiring required to activate your Silverado's taillights when the Thor's lights are used, and a storage bag.
Your Silverado requires a Battery Disconnect # RM-766 when being towed. This kit will make it happen with a push of a button. You will also need a Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251. The braking system will activate when your Thor's brake lights are activated and it senses the inertia of stopping. This will prevent false braking and protect the brake system on both your Thor and Silverado. To ensure the braking system doesn't drain your battery you will need a Battery Charge Line # RM-156-25.
Lastly you may or may not require a Roadmaster High-Low Adapter # RM-048-4. This will depend on the elevation difference from your Thor to the Silverado. The Tow bars should be within 3" of level up or down. Any more you can use an adapter to get the bars as level as possible. If you notice a lot of slop or hitch rattle you can use a Quiet Hitch # RM-061 to eliminate the excess play in your hitch.
