Will this adapter be necessary in hooking up a 2021 Keystone Avalanche 378BH equipped with the 7” Vision S system? I see mixed reviews and some incompatibility issues across different platforms. Also, if compatible, is there a more condensed version since my bed already has the 7 pin provision in place, so there’s no need for a mounting style plug.

The Furrion # FR87PR 7-way vehicle power adapter cable would indeed be necessary for the camera system to function. The problem is that newer Ford and GM trucks equipped with 'Trailer Management' or 'Smart Trailer Connectors' don't allow enough power through on the running light circuit to power the camera system. Using the adapter cable will allow enough power draw for the Furrion # FOS05TASF Vision S camera system to work correctly.
We also offer a more permanent solution with the PWM Filter # VGR64VR. This adapter splices in behind the camera to provide a steady current for proper operation.
