Can I Carry A Motorcycle Carrier on a 2017 Nissan Rogue
Published 03/27/2021 >
Question:
I am looking for a hitch to install on a 2017 Nissan Rogue that has enough tongue weight capacity to use a motorcycle carrier. The dirt bike weighs approx. 205 lbs. This hitch looks to have plenty of tongue weight capacity to do what I need, just wanted to get the experts opinion.

The Curt # C13204 is rated for a tongue weight of 525-lbs, but your 2017 Nissan Rogue appears to only be rated for tongue weights of 110-lbs. When it comes to towing components you're always limited to the lowest rated component in your setup, which in this case appears to be the vehicle. If the information I'm seeing is accurate then you're not going to be able to carry this motorcycle on the rear using a carrier and will instead need to find a lightweight trailer.
If you want to tow a small trailer you'll also need trailer wiring, which I recommend using the Tekonsha # 118480 since we've found that Tekonsha harnesses are extremely reliable. This will give you a plug and play installation that'll be quick and easy, so it's a good solution. You'll also need a ball mount and hitch ball, so something like the # EBMK4 would be a good choice to give you 2 hitch balls to cover some different trailer configurations. It comes with a ball mount, 2 hitch balls, hitch pin, clip and storage bag.
I've linked some review videos of these parts for you to check out.
