Expert Reply:
The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR and Tekonsha Custom Trailer Brake Wiring Adapter # 3040-P you mentioned will work perfectly on your 2013 Toyota Sequoia as long as your vehicle has the factory 7-way connector. The # 3040-P will plug into the factory trailer brake controller port under the dash of your Sequoia and you will just need to use the adapter harness # 331-TPH-017 to go from the Tekonsha harness to your # RED44FR without needing any splicing.
The # RED44FR is a great choice due to only the knob being visible once installed leaving you with a near factory look that is very compact.
I also recommend the Mounting Panel for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controller Control Knob # 331-TPSI-002 which is confirmed to fit your 2013 Toyota Sequoia and will not require you to drill any holes in the dash of your vehicle.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
