Are Spacers Needed To Install Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs On 2021 Silverado 1500 Z71?

Updated 03/19/2021 | Published 03/17/2021

Question:

I need clarification on the parts needed for an install of airbags on a 2021 Silverado 1500 RST Z71 4x4. Im looking to install Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle - F2609. There is confusion as to the need to include the 2 spacers for the Z71. In the frequent QandA, some say its needed for any Z71 and some say only for the trail boss trim with the 2 lift. Can you please clarify? I would assume not needed for all Z71 since the ride height is the same as the comparable non-Z71 4x4 model. Thanks!

In order to install Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle # F2609 onto your 2021 Silverado 1500 Z71, you will in fact need to use Lift Spacers 2" # F2366 as this is stated in the instructions provided with the air helper springs. These air helper springs will be great for leveling your vehicle when weight is added; it will also improve your overall handling of the truck while reducing body roll on turns.

Everything necessary for installation is included with the two kits mentioned above, however, I also recommend adding a compressor if you wish to control your airbags from inside the cab of your truck. For a compressor I would go with Firestone Air Command - In-Cab, Single-Gauge, Electric, Standard-Duty Compressor # F2158.

I attached a few demonstration videos for you to check out which will give you a better idea of how these products are installed and used.
