Question:
Hello, Im going up to Tahoe in March and never bought snow chains before. I dont plan on using these too often so Im looking for something that wont break down but doesnt put a hole in my wallet. My tire size is a 265/70-16, I have the tire pressure at 28psi if that matters, do you know which size would be best suited for my 1997 Toyota 4Runner Limited? Do you also recommend buying the rubber adjusters? Ive researched other websites and many have complained about sizes so I wanted to check in with you before purchasing the chains. Thanks for your time. Best regards

The # PW2028C Glacier cable snow chains are a fit for the 265/70-16 tire size on your 1997 Toyota 4Runner, but I would definitely recommend getting the rubber adjusters. These chains fit a range of tire sizes but do not have a built-in tightening feature, so the adjusters are required to take up the slack unless your tire size is one of the largest in the range.
The # PW100 adjusters fit vehicles with 12 to 16 inch wheels and the # PW99 set fits 16 to 20 inch wheels. Since your 16 inch wheel falls within the size range for both adjusters, you could use either set, but the # PW100 adjusters would be tighter.
The cable chains are suitable for occasional use, but if you may use them more than a few times a year or think you will be getting into rougher country we also offer the Glacier twist-link style chains # PWH2228SC for your 4Runner. These have a built-in cam-tightening feature and a more rugged chain.
I am including links to videos on both styles and an FAQ on the Glacier tire chains for reference.
