Steering Stabilizer for 1989 Ford E-350 Motorhome Class C

Updated 10/06/2025 | Published 02/27/2021

Question:

Just to clarify what bracket kit I need for my 1989 ford econoline e350, class c rv, it did not come equipped with a damper/stabilizer. I've read that the rbk2 bracket kit is for my rv. I've inspected the frame, there are some hole there, but all untapped. Any help greatly appreciated.

For your 1989 E-350 Class C motorhome the steering stabilizer kit you need is the part # RM-RBK24-RSSC and you'd be set.

The part # RM-RBK24-RSSC comes with the correct bracket kit but by itself it's # RM-RBK24.

I have the same issue my e350 1989 does not have an original bracket to be removed so as to install the new one. The are some holes there but not threaded. Do I try to slip in some bolts from behind to fasten it? The frame is hollow so getting bolts in from behind is very hard.

@Harry I see what you mean. Yeah you are going to need to get bolts through those holes if at all possible. One way to do this is the fishwire technique where you thread a wire with a coiled end through the hole far enough you can access the coiled end where you then attach a bolt to and then pull it through. For example if you have a 1/2 inch bolt you would want a bolt leader part # C58400.
