Question:
I am purchasing a hot water heater from your site. I know I need some black gasket maker to go around the gas line as well as some of the white butyl tape to secure the unit to the outside of the RV. Is that correct? (Additional information: Dometic AT96121 Water Heater.)

When installing a water heater it is best to have these supplies on hand:
Camco # CAM25013 Installation kit includeing bytul tape and replacement screws. This reseals the outside door when new heater is installed.
JR Products # 37207-30555 Gas pipe sealant. Throughly coat threads of gas line connections and tighten well. You can use this on your water connections as well.
You can use the Loctite # LT37467 silicone sealer if needed.
Also, it is not required, but if you are old-school like me, I like to use black electric tape around wire nuts when in an area where they could be pinched.
Definately watch the attached installation video. Please note that Dometic states that Installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency, or gas supplier.
