Question:

Hi, I would like a receiver lock and cable for my Yakima Double Down 2inch bike rack, 1-1/4. Can you recommend a product that would work, in terms of a receiver lock with cable would like at least 6-8 foot ? Thanks !

To lock your bikes to your Yakima DoubleDown bike rack and to lock the bike rack to the hitch I would recommend the Yakima LockUp Hitch Lock and Cable, part # Y07238. This part will attach to your existing Yakima hitch bolt to lock the bike rack to the hitch and includes an integrated cable that installs in the bike rack arm and secures the last bike to the rack so none of the bikes can be removed from the rack. The locking cores are keyed alike and can be changed out if needed to match other Yakima products that use the same key system (SKS). I am including a link to a video review on the Yakima lock and cable.

The hitch bolt that is used on the Yakima DoubleDown is designed to screw into the base of the bike rack. Because of that reason other hitch locks will not fit on the DoubleDown bike rack.

I also offer the Yakima SKS Cable, part # Y07233, which is a 9 foot cable that can be used to lock your bikes to the Yakima bike rack. It includes a housing for a Yakima SKS locking core so it can be locked and keyed alike with other Yakima products. It does not allow you to lock the bike rack to your hitch.
