To activate the lever for the underbed gooseneck ball, you will need to cut the wheel well liner of your 2001 Dodge Ram when you install the underbed Curt Double Lock, Flip and Store Underbed Gooseneck Hitch with Installation Kit # C60734.
This is needed for you to be able to easily reach the hitch ball's lever. I have added a link to the instructions as well as a video review for you to check out if you'd like of the Curt Double Lock, Flip and Store Underbed Gooseneck Hitch with Installation Kit # C60734.
I also wanted to add, in case your 2001 Ram was a short bed, that you can get extra turning clearance by adding an offset gooseneck ball, the Curt 4" Offset Ball for Double-Lock Gooseneck Hitch # C602.
