What Do I Need to Install Kayak Racks On My 2009 Honda Fit

Question:

I just bought a honda fit and I want to put a kayak rack on top. Do I need anything more than this item? Can I install it or do I have to have it installed?

For the 2009 Honda Fit, the # Y04073 Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier is a great option.

If you have a factory roof rack, this is all you need. If you don't have a factory roof rack, then you first need a roof rack. I recommend the Inno Roof Rack # INXB115-123, # INXS250, # INK861.

With these items you will have a complete roof rack system that you can carry 2 kayaks on and you will be able to add accessories to carry other items like bikes and cargo boxes. These items can be installed yourself and we have a video (see link) that shows how to install the roof rack system.
