Narrow Factory Roof Rack With Wider Canoe

We have a 2020 Subaru Outback. Looking for a system that does the following: we want a roof rack BUT, we also have a canoe and the canoe is 6inches wider not longer than the factory crossbar system on a 2020 outback. Is there a roof rack that ALSO has an EXTENDABLE cross bar attachment that allows us to use the canoe without having to remove the roof rack? Ideally, the system would also allow us to use a kayak rack attachement when not using the canoe - again without removing the roof rack. Thank you for your help!

The Lockrack Watersport Carrier Part # LR54FR seems to offer similarities of what you are looking for. It is side loading, and ratchets down to secure the boat. It does have the option of folding down nicely when not in use, allowing you to leave it on the vehicle, without taking up too much space on top of the roof.
If the carrier is not wide enough for your canoe, you may need to upgrade to a wider crossbar. I suggest the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack Part # MPG215. This is the 50" version, or if you are needing wider, there is a 58" version with Part # MPG216. This is the one option for accommodating the wider canoe to factory roof rails for your 2020 Subaru Outback.
