Question:

Looking to get this Lock Rack kayak Carrier to put on my 2023 Corolla. It currently has a aero bar roof rack. Kayak is about 60 lbs. Will this LR24VRwork for that? And is it true I will not need tie down straps? Thank you.

Yes, the Lockrack Adjustable Watersport Carrier # LR24VR will absolutely work with the aero bars on your 2023 Toyota Corolla. The clamps on the Lockrack carrier are designed to be universal, and will fit virtually and crossbar shape, including your aero bars. It can also hold up to 175 lbs, so you will not be even close to capacity with your kayak.

It is true that the Lockrack carriers do not require the use of load straps. The ratcheting arms are rubber coated and will be extremely strong/secure. You will be able to give it a good shake and confidently say "yep, that aint going anywhere".

That being said, a lot of folks, including many of us here at etrailer choose to use bow/stern tie downs anyway. Mainly as a "peace of mind" thing on longer trips at highway speeds. If you want to add tie downs we recommend the etrailer Kayak Tie-Down Kit # e36ZR.
