You will have no problem inserting the shank of the Pro Series Cargo Carrier, # 63155, into the 1-1/4 inch receiver on your new 2013 Subaru Crosstrek. The important factor to consider when using this cargo carrier on your vehicle is cargo carrier to bumper clearance.
To find this clearance, we need to take one simple measurement. You will want to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your trailer hitch receiver to the furthest back point on your bumper (see photo). If that measurement is less than 11 inches, then you will have no problem using this cargo carrier with your vehicle.
You will also need a pin and clip to secure the cargo carrier to your trailer hitch. You can go with a standard pin and clip, # PC2, or a Locking Hitch Pin, # e98880. I would recommend picking up straps, # EM31352, to secure your cargo.
