Question:
We are looking to purchase either the MaxxTow Cargo Carrier 27x47 MT70100 or the 23x59 Stromberg Carlson Cargo Carrier Item # CC-100 and also are trying to decide which anti-rattle device that is also lockable to secure to the vehicle avoiding getting the cargo carrier stolen that we would also purchase to use simultaneously with the Draw-Tite Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver Item # 76074. We are leaning towards buying the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2 Hitches Item # 63232, or the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2 Trailer Hitches Item # RM-061 which I think does not include a lock. Do you have any advice and/or recommendations to help us choose between all these anti-rattle with lock choices since we know nothing about these anti-rattle products? We realize if we buy the MaxxTow MT70100 that the hitch pin and clip are included and would need to buy the hitch lock separately so we are thinking we would just buy the J pin Item # 63201 providing the anti-rattle capability that also includes a locking mechanism. Also can you explain where your videos talk about needing to “torque it down according to instructions” such as with the $27.58 Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2 Trailer Hitches Item # RM-061. Can you explain how we can do this and what tools do we need to purchase since we normally use a typical socket set with a ratchet in both SAE and metric sizes and tighten until it feels tight by hand? Is that accomplished with a torque wrench which we are unfamiliar with? The J pin Item # 63201 customer reviews seem to indicate we would need to buy a torque wrench to install the J pin onto the Draw-Tite # 76074. Thank you

The # 63232 is a popular choice is a great device. The # 63232 uses a threaded insert that would install into the hollow shank of the hitch accessory. It really works well. However, the insert needs to stay perfectly aligned with the hitch pin hole in order to work correctly.
As you mentioned, although the # RM-061 Quiet Hitch is a great product, it lacks the ability to lock which is why I'd rule it out.
As for the cargo carrier choice, I'd for the Curt # C18145, due to its heavy duty construction.
I've linked you to demonstration videos featuring the # 63232 lock.
