Question:
Would you know the length to the hook on the fixed end ? I am looking for the shortest possible. Does Erickson have a re-tracktable strap that goes right to hook instead of a short lead by chance ?

I called Erikson to check, and the length of the fixed strap of the Re-Tractable Ratchet Straps w/ Push Button Releases, part # EM34420, is 3.5" from loop to start of the hook.
Erikson does have a Re-Tractable Rachet Strap that allows the hook to fully retract. It's part # EM34417. The only drawback to this is that there is only one hook. However, it still has the option to be bolted down, so it can still work.
I've linked to a video review of this strap for you to look at.
