Question:
Hello, Im in the market to purchase a reliable trailer hitch for my School bus conversion. It is a 2006 Blue-bird Micro bus on a 3500 GMC Savana Express 4x2 3500 cutaway. I need it to pull an enclosed trailer 12ft long and 3500 lb gvrw. What direct bolts on hitch do you recommend I order? Thanx

Expert Reply:
The etrailer Trailer Hitch, part # e98861, is only compatible with the standard 2006 GMC Savana Van, not the cutaway like your Blue-Bird Micro Bus. Unfortunately, there are no custom fit hitches for your bus.
Therefore, your best option is to use an RV Universal Hitch, like part # C13702. This Curt hitch is expandable so it can be bolted on or welded to a range of frames from 18 - 51 inches with a gross towing weight of 5000 pounds. I've linked to a video review of this hitch for you to look at.
If the lengths of that hitch do not suit your needs, I've also linked to a list of our RV hitches.
