Does Hopkins VueSMART RV and Trailer Backup Camera Use Built In WIFI
Updated 12/10/2020 | Published 12/09/2020 >
Question:
Below are the answers to 2 different questions re wifi. Im not really familiar with the technology, but the answers seem to contradict each other. Please try to explain in lay terms. Thanks. We have a solution but without Wifi the VueSMART RV and Trailer Backup Camera part # HM34FR isnt going to work for you. The Hopkins VueSMart back up camera # HM34FR will work fine regardless of cell service or wifi service. It emits its own wifi signal that your phone connects to so as long as you are close to the camera its going to work great. The wireless range of this is 492 feet.

I definitely understand the confusion.
I reached out to Hopkins directly and confirmed that the Hopkins VueSMART RV and Trailer Backup Camera # HM34FR does emit its own wifi signal to allow you to connect to any android or apple device that has wifi capabilities to use as a monitor for the camera. This is great because it will work even in areas that you do not have wifi.
I included a video for the Hopkins VueSMART # HM34FR for you to take a look at.
