Question:
I am looking at getting the RM-8700 but have a 2006 Wrangler X. I do not know how to tell if the braking system is non electric, can you tell me if this will the Invisibrake work for me on this model ? Also, Why would you have to hook the Invisibrake system into the brake lights if I have to install a flat tow wiring harness anyway, wouldnt that activate the brake lights as well as turn signals from the RV already? I am looking at using a Curt harness model 55363 for this jeep. If I do need to splice the two together are there instructions included for that? Also, I saw in the install video that there wasnt an air hose cutter or a firewall grommet or protector the the wires, Why is that not included? and is there anything else that isnt included? Thanks, Pat

Expert Reply:
Part # RM-8700 is a confirmed fit for your 2006 Jeep Wrangler. The InvisiBrake system works with RV's that have air or electric brakes. The InvisiBrake system builds pressure using your vehicles factory brake booster. The InvisiBrake system gets spliced into the diode wiring to tell the system when to turn on. This kit doesn't have an on/off switch, when the diode wiring is plugged into the towing vehicle, it sends the signal to the towed vehicle telling the InvisiBrake when to apply the brakes in your towed vehicle. The lighting functions would still work on your towed vehicle, but if the braking system isn't spliced in, the braking system won't work properly. The instructions for splicing the diode wiring to the braking system can be found in the video I have attached.
Air line cutters part # AL10530 are not included in this kit, however, we do sell them here if you want to pick one up. Grommets aren't included in the kit either, but you can use wire loom part # 39035 to protect your wires or you can pick up grommets at your local hardware store.
