Based on my research it appears that a 2010 Hyundai Sonata with automatic transmission cannot be flat-towed. However, I suggest you double-check your owners manual and/or speak to a Hyundai dealer to confirm. Front wheel drive automatic transmission vehicles usually require either disconnection of the drive shaft or addition of a transmission lubrication pump in order to be flat towed. However, there is a simpler option that does not require modification of your vehicle.
A Towing Dolly may be your best bet for towing the Sonata. We do offer the RoadMaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes, part # RM-2050-1. This dolly features adjustable axles and ramps to fit almost any vehicle and self-steering wheels with electric brakes. It includes a 6-way round connector for connection to the RV. If your RV does not have a 6-way connector you will need an adapter. We offer many types and they can be seen on the page link provided.
A tow dolly requires use of a brake controller and may also require some type of towing lights, both of which are sold separately. The dolly does have its own brake/tail lights but additional lighting may be needed. (Laws concerning lighting requirements for towing do vary, so you should check your local and state laws to confirm what is required for towing a vehicle on a tow dolly.)
A brake controller, such as the Prodigy P2, part # 90885, allows the braking system from your RV to activate the brakes on the tow dolly. I have included two FAQ articles concerning brake controllers that should prove helpful.
You will also need a Brake Controller 6 and 4 Way Installation Kit, part # ETBC6. This kit includes all the components needed to wire the electric brake controller so that it can operate the electric brakes on the tow dolly. I have also included an article on trailer wiring that might be helpful.
Towed vehicle lights for the towed Sonata may be required by law so that motorists driving behind you will see that your RV and towed vehicle have their brakes and/or turn signals applied. The simplest type of tow lights are the removable magnetic type, which completely bypass the wiring in the towed vehicle. These are the simplest to install and remove and are ideal for occasional use - no wire cutting or splicing required.
