Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2006 Honda Pilot for Use with a Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack
Question:
Good day, I have a 2006 Honda Pilot and am interested in a trailer hitch and bike rack. Which hitch should I purchase, as the Draw Tite requires the exhaust to be dropped but the Curt does not. Secondly, can I attach the Swingman 2 bike rack to either hitch?

The exhaust may or may not have to be lowered for the Curt hitch, # 13328, or the Draw-Tite hitch, # 75599, to install on a 2006 Honda Pilot. I have linked the instructions for both hitches for you to view along with some video links showing typical installations showing how we have installed them without lowering the exhaust. It is possible to install either hitch without lowering the exhaust although as you said it is mentioned in the instructions and it will make installation easier.
The more popular hitch is Draw-Tite # 75599. The Swagman XC bike rack, # S64650, will fit either hitch. It measures 10-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest wheel loop so it will clear the rear of the vehicle. I have included a link to the installation details for the bike rack and a link to a video review of the rack for you.
