Curt High Capacity Hitch for 2003 Ram 3500 with OEM Hitch
Question:
Does this hitch fit under the factory hitch? If not does the brackets for the bumper come with it? Does any part of the factory hitch need to be removed?

Expert Reply:
For a high-capacity hitch that fits under the OEM hitch, you would use the Curt Class V, part # C15409, which is the only hitch Curt offers that is compatible with the OEM hitch. In order to install this hitch, your truck must have the factory bumper.
As you can see in the install instructions, no part of the OEM hitch would to be removed. I have captured a diagram from the instructions that shows how the Curt Hitch would sit in relation to the OEM hitch.
