Can The Furrion Back Up Camera Be Wired To Use As Both A Back Up Camera And An Observation Camera

Question:

Hello, Can this model be wired to serve as back up camera when backing up and and observation camera when driving on the highway? If so how is it wired? I have a 2021 Riverside RV Intrepid 235RB that is back up camera prep. Also, is it a direct fit to Riverside RV Intrepid 235RB. The manufacturer says the trailer is back up camera prep. That does mean it is already pre wired? Thank you.

Item # FOS05TASF cannot be wired as both a back up camera and an observation camera. Your 2021 Riverside RV Intrepid 235RB is prepped for a Furrion camera. The camera mount on the back of the camper will have a plate on the front. Remove that plate as described in the instructions. Remove the camera from the mount that comes in the kit. If you are going to wire the system as a back up camera the kit comes with a cable with bare wires at one end. You simply plug the cable into the back of the camera and run the power and ground wire from the camera to a reverse light signal on the trailer. If you are using it as an observation camera you simply connect the camera cable to the cable inside the mount. Keep in mind if you are using it as an observation camera the running lights need to be on for the monitor to receive the signal from the camera.
