I have a stowmaster 5000 tow bar I used to tow our 2006 BE Jetta — is it compatible with the drawbar for a 2020 Equinox???

You can use the Roadmaster Stowmaster 5000 tow bar, and by drawbar I assume you mean base plates for your 2020 Chevy Equinox. The Stowmaster 5000 is compatible, but you do need specific base plates for your Equinox, which are the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit # RM-523193-4.
Along with the base plates and your Stowmaster 5000 tow bar, there are a few other parts you will need in order to flat tow your 2020 Equinox:
- Safety Chains: Roadmaster 80" Coiled Safety Cables # RM-653
- Wiring Kit (If Equinox is Premier Model): Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
- Wiring Kit (If Equinox is NOT a Premier Model): Roadmaster Smart Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Wiring Kit for Variable Voltage Incandescent Tail Lights # RM26FR
- Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes # RM-156-75
- Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25
- Supplemental Braking System: Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # DM86VR
OR
- For a motorhome with air brakes: Demco SBS Air Force One Supplemental Braking System # DM26VR
