The correct replacement water heater for your current Atwood GC6A 6 gallon water heater is the Atwood RV Water Heater w/ Heat Exchange - Gas and Electric - Automatic Pilot - 8,800 Btu - 6 Gal # AT96163 that you were looking at. This is a gas and electric unit with an automatic pilot light that is 12-1/2" tall x 16" wide x 18" deep.
