Question:

I know it was stated the holes by the hooks are not intended for padlocks but it appears this would be a great way to lock the bikes to the unit so would it be harmful to utilize the holes in this manner? Thanks for your time!

The use of a small pad lock like the Master Lock Covered Solid Body Padlock part # 131D on the Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack part # S64670 would not cause any harm to the bike rack.

It can be an effective way to secure your bikes.
