Replacement Metal Roof Vent Cover for Spartan Cargo Trailer

Question:

Greetings, We need to replace the vent lid on our enclosed cargo Spartan trailer. It is a standard 14 x 14 and we want to replace it with a metal lid. We watched your video on replacing before we even order. We attempted to loosen the screws holding the trim panel, but immediately ran into a problem. We have no screw drive bit that will fit the screws. Do you know what type of screws these are? Once we are know we can get the screws off we will immediately replace them with normal screws we will order a metal replacement. Your metal lid replacement is listed at 14 x 14 but you say it is actually 14 1/4 x 14 1/4. We assume that it will work with our vent. Thanks.

I don't have any way of knowing what the screw size that's being used on your current trailer, but I can tell you that the Replacement Dome Assembly for Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent - Flat, Mill Finish Metal # BV0534-00 will work on your vent. The 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" is the actual size of the vent opening in the trailer, but the vents themselves are 14" x 14". When measurements are referred to, everything that mentions one of those two sizes is going to be the same, so the parts are interchangeable. It should be noted that the metal roof vent lids we have are only available with continuous hinges, so you'll want to make sure you've got a continuous hinge on your vent.
