Question:

The end of the drive shaft of my k1550 where the boat lift wheel attaches broke off. does this replacement drive shaft work with a boat lift wheel. Fulton Accessories and Parts - F501118

Replacement Pinion Shaft for Fulton 1500 Series Winch # F501118 is the correct replacement for your drive shaft. The K1550 is part # F143100 and the shaft is shown in the attached photo where it connects to the handle. The boat lift wheel will attach to this shaft in that same location as it did before.

Unfortunately we have not yet made a video for that particular installation. To remove the old drive shaft and install the Replacement Pinion Shaft for Fulton 1500 Series Winch # F501118 you will simply start from the handle and disassemble your current drive shaft one piece at a time. Once you've removed the handle, two nuts and bushing, then you will go to the opposite side of the shaft and on the inside there is a clip you will remove. That will give you the movement you need to continue disassembly and remove the drive shaft. Installing the new one will use the same process in reverse.
