Question:

I just purchased a 20ft Gulfstream Ameri-Lite travel trailer 189DD. The dry weight is 2986 lbs. Its carrying capacity is 846 lbs. The tongue weight is 400 lbs. The tow vehicle can tow up to 4400 lbs 2019 Audi Q5. What kind of weight distribution hitch would I need?

I can't recommend a weight distribution hitch for your 2019 Audi Q5 because your vehicle design prohibits it. I can recommend the Draw-Tite # 76183 standard Class-III hitch paired with a Curt # 17200 Sway Bar.

The benefit of using a weight distribution hitch is the ability to move some of the tongue weight to your tow vehicle's front axle and to the trailer axle. If you can manually manage the distribution of weight in your trailer safely then you could use a standard hitch with sway control.

If you don't already have them you may additionally need need a ball mount with sway control tab # D320. Don't forget to get the pin and clip # PC3 sold separately.
