Will the Yakima Big Catch Rotate on Yakima Round Bars
Updated 09/18/2020 | Published 09/16/2020 >
Question:
I have two fishing kayaks...Hobie Mirage Outbacks. I generally have to slide them onto my Yakima Rack and Roll trailer. With my current setup, the saddles I have are Yakimas and they have roller on the rear saddle. But they cannot be tightened enough to keep them from rotating when I slide my kayak onto the trailer. Im wondering if this will be a problem with the Big Catch Saddles with the round bar adaptors. Those things look way to flimsy to be tightened a lot on the round bars. The Big Catch looks much easier to attach my tie downs to so I would prefer switching to them if possible. Thanks!

Yes the Yakima BigCatch Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs part # Y04091 will work on your Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer. To prevent them from moving they are easy to tighten down and get really secure.
With that said there is the potential for them to rotate if you put a lot of pressure on them since it is a round bar it is something that we see from time to time. You will be able to tighten them down more but I do not want to tell you that no matter what happens they will never rotate.
I've linked the video on them if you would like to check them out.
