Can Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer be Backed Into Water
Published 11/07/2019 >
Question:
I am carrying an inflatable boat on my trailer. Can i back this trailer in the water to launch and retrieve the boat. I am specifically wondering about the trailer bearings. Can they be submerged in water.

Yakima does not recommend backing their Rack and Roll trailers like the # Y08107 you mentioned into water as the bearings aren't sealed and neither are the electrical connections. Your best option would be to back it right up to the waters edge and then lift the boat in and out of the water.
With a helper this wouldn't be too difficult.
