the leaf spring has a tongue that stands out to hit the bump stop? so how will this work on this spring?

The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-114-47 is specifically designed for your 2006 Ford F-250. They are designed to contact and interact with the factory bump stop base.
They do a great job and will help to support some of the weight when hauling.
