Can Rear Hatch of Vehicle Open with Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Installed
Updated 09/14/2020 | Published 09/10/2020 >
Question:
I installed the rack, it is secure, put my two bikes on it no problems, took them off, tried to open my liftgate, it gets to the top and trips off to close, this can’t be right.

You aren't supposed to open the rear liftgate of a vehicle with a trunk mounted bike rack installed like the Yakima Halfback part # Y02634 installed. Trunk racks are really convenient as they don't require a hitch to install but they do have this as a draw back.
