Will 60-Amp Relay Kit for Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-RK1260 Handle 60 Amps
Updated 09/08/2020 | Published 09/04/2020 >
Question:
I understand the need for the rk 1260 with a smart alternator some distance from an ignition source with the bcdc. I understand that most bcdc or dc to dc chargers as some call them pull considerably more power from the input stage than the 40 on the output. Seems a constant duty solenoid would be better? This relay does not look like it could handle the load of driving for hours supplying that amperage ? Are these going to have to be replaced regularly?

The 60-Amp Relay Kit for Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-RK1260 will easily survive use up to it's amperage rating of 60 amps. Under normal regular use there would be no need to replace the relay frequently.
