Question:

Im interested in the TH45JV for my 2016 Toyota Highlander and 2008 BMW 335i. I would like to know if the trunk could still open with the TH45JV attached and no bikes on the unit? Thank you for your help.

The Thule OutWay # TH45JV will fit your 2016 Toyota Highlander but you will not be able to open your rear hatch when the rack is installed. You can, but it may cause damage by jamming the hooks against the body and trunk lid.

If you are still wanting to get the Thule OutWay, it is not a hard install and I've included a video for you to check out to see how it fits!

If you want to be able to access your hatch when you have a rack installed, you will need to get a hitch # e98844 and a rack like the Swagman XTC-2 TILT # S64671. This rack tilts and will let you have access to your hatch whenever you have bikes on or not, which is nice!
