Question:
Hi, My 2014 Subaru Outback has zero wiring as of now. I think I need to wire it for the 4 pin, then get a 7 pin adapter kit, but then I’m stumped. If I want to use the curt wireless brake what wires need to be hooked up? Which ones are capped? Totally new to all this any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

We have all the parts you need for your 2014 Subaru Outback so you can install the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180.
The first thing you need is a 4-way wiring harness, and the best one for your '14 Outback is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467.
Next you'll need to add a 7-way (which the 4-way will actually plug into), and for a wireless brake controller like the Echo, the correct kit is the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation # ETBC7L.
That kit will give you all the wiring you need, and in regards to the wires that need to be hooked up, for the Echo it will be all but the blue brake controller wire, as that is not necessary for this controller.
I have added links to video reviews for you to check out as well of the 4-way, 7-way, and Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180.
