I have inherited a 2007 RAV4. Can i tow it behind my motor-home ? what would i need ?

The first thing you'll want to do is look in the owners manual or contact Toyota and see if your Rav4 is capable of being towed behind a motor home. Some vehicles can and require certain criteria to be met, and others can not be towed at all.

From the research I did, I found that the Rav4 is not designed to be towed with all 4 wheels on the ground, however if it's front wheel drive it can be dolly towed, but if it's all wheel drive it can not be dolly towed it must be towed on a flat bed trailer with all the wheels off the ground.

I recommend getting in contact with Toyota so they can let you know how your Rav4 was equipped. If you do have a FWD Rav4, then dolly towing would be the way to go.

I recommend Roadmaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes # RM-2050-1 if you find that it can be dolly towed.

The dolly does have electric brakes, so it will make it easier and safer to tow, you won't be relying on just the motor home brakes to slow or stop everything. However, it does require a brake controller like # 90195 in the tow vehicle, and a 6 or 7 way trailer connector like # PK12706 to activate the trailer brakes.
