Should Ranch Hitch Gooseneck Adapter use Offset Adapter if Not Needed

Question:
I bought a fifth wheel camper that has both an 8 inch adapter and just a straight gooseneck adapter. How do I know if I need to use the 8 inch adapter over the street gooseneck adapter? I pulled my camper with the straight gooseneck adapter and it pulled fine, I’m just curious about what the Extender would do for me.

If the straight adapter was fine and you had no turning clearance issues continue using it. The offset adapter would be needed to help slightly with turning clearance but if you not needed just adds length to your towing setup and puts a little more strain on the pin box.
