Question:
I bought the Curt Echo brake controller when I bought my brand new camper. The first trip or two it worked great. But now, anytime I apply brakes, the pressure dial on the app fills up completely and immediately. So braking at low speeds is ridiculous the brakes basically lock up after a second, making eased braking impossible under 20mph. Also at low speeds, if I turn my hazards on, the brakes go off with the lights blinking. I have to use the trailer hazardsinch button on the app first to avoid that issue. Is that normal? Im pulling a 2019 Grand Design 20bhe, with a 2011 Audi Q7 TDi - in case any of that is relevant.

It sounds like there is corrosion in your 7-way connector. Often when there is an issue like this it is due to power bleeding over from the 3 o'clock pin to the 5 o'clock pin. That would then put the full power to the trailer brakes when you hit the brakes or when the hazards blink which is what is likely causing that strong braking. The solution is using some sandpaper to clean the pins and then use dielectric grease # 11755 to keep moisture out of the connection and prevent corrosion.
