How Much Play Should There be With Curt Gooseneck on 1995 Ford Super Duty
Updated 07/30/2020 | Published 07/28/2020 >
Question:
In your experience, what is considered normal play in the ball, and at what point does it become too much? I pulled an old folding ball out and want to put a new one in, but with no visible way to tighten up the old ball, makes me nervous about developing play in a new folding ball. Is this a frequent or recurring issue with the Curt model C61505-52?

Expert Reply:
There should be about 1/16th of an inch of play at the ball with a gooseneck hitch that fits your 1995 Ford Super Duty like the Curt Curt Double Lock, Flip and Store Underbed Gooseneck Hitch # C60723.
Excessive play is not a frequent or recurring issue with this hitch so you should have no problems with it. I have added links to the installation instructions as well.
