Question:

In July 2014 I purchased a Saris Freedom 2 bike rack and #3022 Security Locking Hitch Tite. In July 2017 the special locking hitch tite bolt almost became stuck in my hitch and had to be unthreaded with a wrench for its full length. I wrote to Saris customer support about it and they were kind enough to send me a new #18671 Bolt, Special, Locking HitchTite and a #3015 Hitch-Tite, 1-1/4. The replacement #3015 Hitch-Tite 1-1/4 I received from Saris in July 2017 used a square nut instead of a hex nut. I was told that this was an improvement over the original hex nut. The photos of the #3015 Hitch-Tite 1-1/4 on your website show the original hex nut. First Question: Can you tell me whether the nut in the #3015 item is actually a hex nut or a square nut? In June 2020, the 2017 replacement #18671 Bolt, Special, Locking HitchTite did become stuck in the 2017 replacement #3015 Hitch Tite while on the rear of my car. After 3 weeks of no response from Saris due to Covid-19 I was forced to cut the bike rack off my car with a sawzall. After cutting the hitch shank near the receiver I was able to cut each side of the special locking bolt within my receiver. Second Question: Do you sell the #18671 Bolt Special, Locking HitchTite separately? Third Question: Does the #20597 Replacement Hitch Shank include the #3015 Hitch-Tite, 1-1/4?

Yes the Replacement Hitch Tite Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin # SA3015 now uses a square nut and can be purchased to replace your old one. The photo we had is out of date.

The Replacement Hitch Shank for Saris Freedom Bike Rack # SA20597 does not come with the Hitch Tite Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin. If the 2" adapter has been damaged that can be replaced with Replacement Aluminum Hitch Adapter Sleeve for Saris 1-1/4" Hitch Bike Racks # SA3032.
