I was able to find the step originally on your 1989 Winnebago wnc23. It was the Kwikee 3218 which unfortunately no longer has any replacement parts available. You will need to replace the entire step assembly as replacement parts are only available for 1999 and newer steps at this time.

Since you have a 2 step assembly, I recommend the Kwikee # LC372261 if you have 24 inch wide steps. There are many different sizes regarding step width, mounting bracket size, rise/drop of step, etc, so I've linked the page to all your 2 step electric options.

The small gear on the Replacement Motor for Kwikee 25 Series Electric RV Steps #LC369506 is not available as a separate replacement part from Lippert. Unfortunately, that means the only way to replace the gear is to get the entire assembly.
