Slipper Springs Close to 24 Inches for Trailer Axle

Updated 07/17/2020 | Published 07/15/2020

Question:

I need to replace the leaf springs on my Cox Boat Trailer. Measurement is 24 inch eye to eye. Leaf springs are open-end slipper springs, 3 leaf. I also need the mounting kit for the springs to the axle. Axle is 1 1/4 inch diameter. Also would like to purchase 1 inch hubs with 5 lugs. Trailer is for saltwater use so galvanized is needed. thanks

The closest we have to that is the 3-Leaf Slipper Spring # SP-178275 which measures a total of 24-5/8" long and is rated for 1,500 lb trailer axles; but the smallest mounting hardware we offer for these is for 1-3/4" round axles, the U-Bolt Kit # APUBR-10.

As for hubs, in order to find the correct replacement hubs for your trailer you need to know the weight rating of your axle, and also what bearings your current hub has. You will need to take apart your current hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them. If you are unable to find them, you need to use digital caliper and measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearings and grease seal ride.

For example, the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles # AKIHUB-545-2-G-2K uses inner and outer bearing # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) and grease seal # 10-9 (1.500" inner diameter).

I have added links to some help articles and our entire selection of hubs for you to come back to, or you can let me know the bearings/seal you have and I can try to find the right one for you.
