Question:
I have a Renegade Valencia RV, Freightliner chassis, that does not have a wiring harness to the cab. The distance from the trailer plug on the rear of the unit to where the phone will be mounted in the cab is 34 feet. Will I be able to use the Curt Echo 51180? Thanks

According to Curt, the effective wireless range of the # C51180 Echo Wireless Brake Controller will be typically up to 35-40 feet, but that distance could be quite a bit less if your Renegade Valencia has lots of inner partition walls. Due to the important nature of having functional brakes, I'd recommend playing it safe and using a standard, hardwired brake controller like the # TK90160 Tekonsha Primus.
If your RV doesn't already have a 7-way trailer connector, you can use the # ETBC7 brake controller install kit to install the controller. The kit includes wire to run from the rear of the RV to the front, but you'll need roughly 20 feet extra. The wire is available as part # 10-2-1.
